Vacation Bible School (VBS)

VBS is a fun-filled week of activities and excitement centered on a Bible theme. In early June, we transform the parish house and surrounding grounds into our Vacation Bible School. VBS campers may find themselves on a “tropical island” or in a marketplace in “Athens” with the location emphasizing the week's Bible theme.

Each morning, from 9:00 – noon, children are engaged in stories, crafts, singing, dancing, games and other hands-on learning experiences, all focused on the Bible lesson of the day, which emphasizes the week's theme.

We welcome all children age 4 – rising 6th graders, including members of the Gloucester community, as well as members, family and friends of Abingdon parishioners.

Middle schoolers, high schoolers and adults join in the fun as leaders or helpers. For more information, please contact the church office.
