Youth Activities

Youth Events

Plans are underway for four major youth events this year. Youth events focus on fellowship, spirituality, and service; they include retreats, games and mission trips. In the past, the youth have camped, skied, hosted dinners and films, and participated in community service projects. Stay tuned to find out what we'll be doing this year!

Service Projects

Children and youth at Abingdon focus their time and talents on service projects throughout the year. Some of our projects have included participating in the national Souper Bowl of Caring (food collection), collecting school supplies for needy children, conducting bake sales to raise money for local food banks, and helping to restore an old mission church.

Youth in the Community Beyond Abingdon

Abingdon youth are deliberate in moving outside our own four walls. We partner with other churches in our area and in our Diocese for service projects and and for fellowship.

Shrine Mont Retreats

Retreats are sponsored by the Diocese of Virginia for 6th and 7th graders, for 8th graders, and for high schoolers. These events are attended by youth from the entire Diocese and Abingdon youth enthusiastically take advantage of these opportunities to connect with peers from other churches. http://diovayouth.wordpress.com/pym-101/
